When a meter is set MEN supplies the customer with a handwheel valve in a round box just on the customer side of the meter. This is so that if you the customer have a leak you can turn the water off. MEN employees are the only ones that are authorized to work on any parts that are in the meter box. If a new construction is done please make sure the plumbers leave that valve in place. If the valve is removed and we have to send someone out to turn water off for a customer leak an $18.00 trip charge will be added to the next bill and the customer will be required to install a new valve for their use.
